Aluminum is a naturally lightweight and durable raw material. Compared to steel, aluminum fences and gates are almost 60% lighter, which significantly simplifies the unloading and installation process. Engineers and architects value aluminum for its advantageous properties and use it extensively in the construction industry.
The popularity of aluminum stems from its weather resistance. Unlike steel, which can rust, aluminum does not develop classic rust stains because it contains no iron. Although both aluminum and iron react with oxygen, iron oxide flakes off, while a protective oxide layer forms on aluminum.
A special coating technology further slows down the oxidation process in aluminum fences. This makes our gates and fences resistant to weathering and protects them from rust.
Coating technology
Our aluminum fences and gates are processed in our state-of-the-art, automated coating facility. This facility is specifically designed for powder coating aluminum and, thanks to its generous dimensions, can handle gates and other large elements up to 9 meters wide.
The coating process uses a special technique in which the colored powder is electrostatically applied to the aluminum surface. This modern type of powder coating ensures a coating thickness of at least 100 µm and is QUALICOAT-certified due to its compliance with stringent Swiss standards.
Since matte finishes are currently very popular and more durable than glossy ones, we offer a standard powder coating with a matte, fine texture. However, our customers can also choose a glossy finish if they prefer.
Coatings in wood-like colors (wood look)

Upon request, we can provide individual profiles or entire fence panels and gate leaves with a wood-like texture. Our special manufacturing technology allows the design to be transferred from a carrier medium, usually a film, to a surface that has been previously prepared with a special powder coating.
The result is a durable, decorative coating that looks deceptively like real wood, such as pine, oak, beech or another design from our sample collection.
Use and processing of first-class materials.
All handles, fittings and accessories of our gates are made of stainless steel.
The aluminum fences and gates from ZAUN-KAUF.CH are assembled in the workshop exclusively using stainless steel screws. However, we use self-tapping screws for the mounting brackets used to attach the posts, as they are better suited for this purpose.
We offer various size options for fence and gate posts: 80x80 mm, 100x100 mm and 120x120 mm, with wall thicknesses between 3 and 4 mm.
The frames of our gates are made from solid profiles of at least 80x50 mm.
The guide rails for sliding gates have dimensions of 119/122 mm.
